I have a 10 gallon antique metal milk can, how should I sell it?
I want to sell it, it’s painted black(original) and would make a great piece in someone’s house and I’d rather not use Craigslist. What type of store would sell decorative oddities?
Look for consignment shops. You could also see if you have a “country store” in your are. They may purchase it for resale or as a display piece. If you can get a free written appraisal, several auction houses have a monthly free appraisal fair, you could then donate it to Goodwill and take the tax deduction–just remember to get a written receipt from Goodwill. [Be sure to tell the appraiser that you need the appraisal because you are donating it to charity, they will usually have no problem writing an informal dollar amount appraisal for you.]
