should I get an antique Filigree ship appraised?
I was just wondering if I should spend the money to get and old Filigree ship appraised. It was my Grandfathers and I know it’s at least 75 years old. It is about 10″ high and 14″ long. It was in a glass case with an old note. I coud barely make out the handwriting, but with the few characters I could make out and google, I figured out the words.
“Filigree ship. Made in Ujang Pandang, S. Sulawesi Indonesia”
I know appraisals are not cheap, so I was wondering if it is worth pursuing. The only thing I can find online is broaches of filigree ships. This is a model and look pretty neat. Could use a little restoring.

Yeah, well, I WOULD bother! You can call appraisers and see what their fee might be. They may be so interested that they’ll do it for free. I honestly believe you have a treasure. Protect it and find a way to evaluate it.
