I bought 35k worth of sports cards and memorabilia, how much should I insure them for on my homeowners policy?
I bought most from a West Coast collector who was in the business 30+ years and offered me 30% or more off retail price of his inventory.
I’ve seen on programs like “Antiques Roadshow” where an item valued at say 7k at auction where the owner is told to insure it for 10k, I’m guessing this premium would take into account replacement costs and any possible increase in value.
Not looking for overkill or to insure 35k in memorabilia for an excess or unfair amount, so what would seem to be a fair amount to insure collectibles or fine art in that range, on a homeowners policy? thanks!
