how do i sell an expensive antique china set?
I just inherited an antique china set. Ive been told that it has a value of about $2000. But I dont know how to go about selling it. Would I got to a store, an auction house, a fair, online, etc? I am located in NYC.
Try to find out what you have first. Write down any manufacturing marks from the backs of the plates and do some research, first on the Internet, then if you can’t find anything, try taking a piece to an appraiser or auction house. Is the set complete? Incomplete sets aren’t worth nearly as much as complete ones when it comes to antique china.
Once you know what you have, search completed listings on eBay. This should help give you an idea of what market price is. If there are no completed listings, you may have a rare set!
