I live in the Bay Area, help me widd stores forr….?

I would check out Bay Area Craigslist Antiques category – most listings for furniture have pictures and prices are usually negotiable (shop carefully – don’t share personal contact info unless you’re serious about buying an item and have someone go w/you when picking up your merch.) The other thing is, you can check out various styles online to decide what styles you like – Deco, French shabby chic, Victorian, etc. and get price ranges to compare with antique shops.

Lot of antique stores all over the Bay Area – antique mall type operations have some good sales going right now because business is slow. Fancy antique stores will have much higher prices.

I’ve been looking out for an old mannequin form myself! The best ones I’ve seen have been marked NFS (not for sale) in antique stores because they’re so great for display purposes, so hope to run across one someday – anyway, it’s an excuse to browse the large antique co-ops…

Too bad, I have a retail double chrome clothing rack I bought just a few months ago, no longer need and have been looking to re-home. I went to a commercial display company showroom by my job in Sacramento, and got a very sturdy and handy clothing rack, the same ones you see in dept. stores. Most of the Bed, Bath & Beyond home clothes racks are pretty rickety & expensive for lesser quality. You can look for display stores in your vicinity on the internet. Good luck with your summer project – nothing like a room makeover to inspire you to streamline & organize!
