If you had £5.000 would you?
invest it? Probably. Well I dont want to. I want to buy something, like silver antique, gold antique, antique pottery etc or some collectable. Has anyone any idea what I could buy?? So I could admire it for a couple years then maybe sell it and make a profit???? Any ideas??

It is a great idea to build up an emergency fund – in case of a “rainy day” as all the lovely old grans used to say. Hate to say this but what you want to do is still an investment – this term is not only for the stock market or “bricks and mortar”.
Be very careful when you have purchased your treasures.. Especially if they are breakable – you may wish to think ahead and also purchase a display case. Also check your household insurance to ensure that your purchases are covered.
OK – If I had £5,000 to invest (especially in the current market) I would buy Moorcroft pottery – very attractive & inflation proof. My first purchase was a vase at a price of £25 some 20 years ago – by the time my cat knocked it off the shelf a few years ago I was unable to replace it for under £100. Why not check this out on Ebay??
You can also increase your stock by visiting those lovely little junk shops when out and about, boot or rummage sales… We actually bought a Moorcroft plate from our local Debenhams department store one year for £1- in with a pile of odd china (makes up for the cat’s accident a little!!)…
