Does the demand graph in macroeconomics?
depend on the number of buyers demanding an item, or on the level of demand the buyers are bringing for that item? For example, an item with low supply and a low number of buyers are antiques and other collectibles. However, the buyers are very rich and somewhat desperate to get some of these items so the price is pretty high, in some cases extremely high, even though many people aren’t looking to get these collectibles.

Demand curve represents the demand schedule of individual consumer at different prices. If you sum up all the individual demands,you will get the market demand. Other variables which have effects on deamnd will cause the demand curve to shift. In the market, if there are a lot of small buyers and suppliers buy and sell homogenous product,it will be called perfectly competitive market. The market with small number of suppliers is called oligopoly.If you are talking about the luxuries for the rich,they will be price inelastic because they will buy whatever the price is. You just draw an inelastic demand curve. And it’s micros.
