Room design ideas!! Help!!?
Okay, so my family is building a new house and I get to design my room, yay!!
I am a 13 year old girl, and I change my mind a lot so I want something that will be cute for a long time.
I think I want the walls light pink, and I want it to have an antique feel to it.
Can you find some items that will go with this theme?

You say you always change your mind, so i’d recommend choosing a versatile shade for the walls. If you really do want to stick with pink, you should opt for a subdued, dusty light pink. Baby pink is probably the most common light pink but may not wear as well as you get older and change your mind.
Also, baby pink is very…could i say cutesy? A toned down variant can really be glamorous and add a sophisticated vintage/antique look to the room =)
For flooring, i think a light cream color carpet would really suit. A room that has lighter flooring than the walls looks much more striking than vice versa.
This look can be very feminine, chic and easily updated as you age. Accessories really help transform a room, so try using cushions, bedding, curtains, rugs, lighting, photo frames, etc to change the look when you feel like something new.
Black and white/cream color cushions of different fabrics look great piled up on a bed with matching linen. As the black helps tone down the pink, this look can be carried out over the years without being too ‘childlike’. A mosquito net above the bed would work wonders also. You can get bed canopies, that hang from the ceiling, and work just like a circular net but look more like what you find on a four poster bed. Try your local home/decorating/bedding store, im sure you’ll find one =)
To save money, why not try scouting out old dresser draws? They can be sanded back and painted in ways to give an antique appearance, at very little cost. Place it against the wall, hang a decorative mirror on the wall above, and presto – instant vintage glamour!
If you keep in mind that this room will likely be yours for years to come, and discuss your decorating ideas with your parents, im sure you’ll come up with a beautiful room design =) xx
