Parts for 78 Dodge Warlock?
I’m looking for a place I can find a 78′ Dodge Warlock Passenger side mirror. My dad owns the truck and awhile back my mom or someone had knocked the mirror off, not sure on the details but I’d like to find out where to get one and the cost so I can look into purchasing it for his birthday. The truck itself is in excellent condition. I also had one more question and plan to add a picture of the Warlock. How much would a collector pay for a truck like this and is it considered a classic or antique. It’d be nice to give him an idea of how much it could go for or someone would offer for it, he plans to restore it and show it off. It’s one of his goals in life and I’d love to be able to help him out in doing so.
Mind you this was taken on a cell phone so it’s not the greatest picture of it ever. It’s the only one I have right now though.
The Warlock was a “trim package” and could be had in 2WD or 4WD but only in stepside form as was the Lil Red Truck.
What does this mean you ask? There were standard mirrors which your Dad’s truck appears to have and the optional towing mirrors which were mounted on arms and extended about 9-10 inches from the body. The standard mirrors on your Dad’s truck were very common during that era, my father’s ’76 shortbed (purchased new by my Dad) has the same mirrors so they were common to all the Dodge pickups during that era and shouldn’t be too difficult to find.
You could try a dealership but will pay a premium price if they can get one but it will be original equipment (OEM). eBay is another option, automotive parts stores have a lot of knockoff mirrors (made in China) that are inexpensive and usually contain some distortion in the mirror and you may find one in a salvage yard near your home.
UPDATE: . . . a vehicle 25 years or older is considered an antique which a 1978 is about 33 years old so it is an antique. Classic can be any number of things, to some people a Warlock is a classic (is in my book) to others it’s an old pickup truck and wouldn’t give you a dime for it. In most cases a classic is in the eye of the beholder. Value? the market is depressed, check eBay for an approximate value.
