15 year old kicked out of antique store? your opinion?
So I am in Madison, WI visiting my dad, but I live in a very small town. About 2 miles from my dad’s house there is an antique store. and I was going to find something for my grandma. I walked 2 miles to this store, with icy sidewalks, and 15 degree weather. I get there, and the old man says “Hello!” in a very nice town. then I said hello back, and he asked if I had my parents with, and I said no, I just came to find something for my grandma. and then he got rude and said “well yeah you’re not under 18.” and he said it akwardly. then asked if that meant I had to leave, and he said that I should leave. so I said ok whatever, and walked out the door. I was pissed. I’d just walked 2 miles in 15 degree weather to be kicked out of a store that had no documents saying a 15 year old guy couldn’t be in it. I think its really stupid. What are your opinions on this?
There’s no law saying that a person under 18 is not allowed in a store alone. You shouldn’t have left. The only reason he’s saying that is because you’re a teen and he’s afraid you might steal something or he’s racist.
