Has anyone heard of a company called M.W. SAVAGE FACTS, Inc. that was in Minneapolis, MN in the early 1900′s?
I have an antique round oak table with this label inside of it.
I am not aware of a specific company, although that is a very famous name in MN. Marion Savage was the owner of Dan Patch the famous Pacer horse that held the world record for many years. Savage, MN gets its name from him after it was originally Hamilton, also Lake Marion in Lakeville. There was a dispute about one of Dan Patch’s best times once and M.W. Savage used the the time he thought it should have been in the name of his company. If I remember right it was the Dan Patch 1:15 or 1:05 feed company. Many things were named for Dan Patch so it should not be a surprise that there may have been furniture.
