How much do chips and cracks really detract from the value of a collectible piece of pottery or glassware?
For example, Roseville pottery or Carnival glass? I have a green glass ice bucket with a Heisey mark on the bottom. It had an almost microscopic “flake” on the top edge and to hear antique dealers and collectors moan about it making the item virtually worthless. Is this true, or are they just looking to get things for an exceptional bargain?
good antique collectors will ALWAYS pick away at items to get them cheaper.
