Does anyone know a website where you can find picture and $values of vintage cranberry and ruby glass?
My siblings and I inherited a very large collection of what our mom called cranberry glass. We would just like to know the value of some of the pieces without going and getting full appraisals. WE have experience in the architectural antique world but no nothing of glass
It can be done, but it takes a lot of work. Basically you have to shop for glass til you find pieces that match your own, then see what the prices are. The exception to this is http://kovels.com where you are allowed a few free searches a month, then you need to pay.
First, google is your friend. There are hundreds of online glass sellers. You can look through their stuff and find items that match yours. See what they are charging – that’s what it’s worth. Ebay is also a great resource. Sign in and use the “completed items” link in the left hand column, to see what was actually paid for the pieces.
If you are pressed for time, it’s actually better to pay an appraiser.
