information about Lee W. Parkinson, an artistic painter?
My father found a nice painting by Lee W. Parkinson, and was wondering about any information that could be found concerning him. The painting looks to be rather old. My dad lived in Sidney, Ohio, and he found the painting in a used furniture store that also has some antiques. He was wondering about the artist.
His dates were 1913-2000, he got his art education in Los Angeles in the 1930s and also studied at the Chicago Institute of Art, he also worked as a teacher and lecturer, he lived and worked in Utah and California, and he’s known for landscapes and figures. At one point he seems to have worked in the art department at Universal Studios.
It’s tantalising – there’s a full biography available at this site but it’s only available to subscribers or on a Friday. Weird.
