What do you think will be antique items worth alot in 200 years?
What items do you think would be worth a lot in 200 years, so much that it could take care of any debt your future relatives have; an item that is sold in stores now under $500.
No “hand made items” these are technically revival items at this point, which means the guy with the original will still have a better value. If you can predict which current artists or artisans will go on to fame, well art appreciates, but you really aren’t asking about art.
Current items are a bit harder. Twenty years ago, I would have said personal computers, but at this point they’re already collector’s items. Most current tech items are just variations on themes. About like having a hammer or gun from the 19th century. Sure that’s nice, but hardly a priceless object.
So dismiss most of the collectibles as well. Coins, comics, stamps, will have collector’s but aren’t that valuable. Too many current collectors. Campaign items will still be popular and from the last election more so than most.
Books? no different than art. The kindle isn’t a new or unique idea, so no there.
All of which assumes a world where things go much like the present.
I’d predict that a nice selection of heirloom seeds, well preserved could be invaluable. Every year we kill off more and more types of plants and animals. A store of these genetics could be priceless in 200 years or could be worth squat.
