Activities for TEENS at Cape May, New Jersey?
Hi there all. My family will soon be taking a vacation to Cape May, and frankly, I’m skeptical. Besides the beach, when I searched other attractions there, the first few pages were full of historic walking tours and antique shops. Not my cup of tea. Does anyone know of any fun things to do on the island or surrounding beaches for teens? Any suggestions would be helpful. Also, inexpensive options are best but I’ll take splurge ideas. Thanks so much!
yeh i know some stuff…
first off your going to a very historical area for vacationing so there will be alot of history and tours and s***.. so heres the breakdown..
CapeMay:
- If your into shopping, cape may has plenty of shopping including an out side mall that spans several blocks. Also on the promenade there are more.
- Mini golf Cape May has several along Beach Avenue.
- Eating, Cape May like most jersey beach towns have plenty of resturants.
- Arcades, there are 2.
- Fishing
Im most likely forgetting alot of stuff. overall the atmosphere is a family atmosphere. There is no amuesment park. Depending on when you are going there will be events.
Heres some info on other beach towns that are located north of cape may if you are bored of staying in the town. If you want more info all these towns have websites, check em out.
If you are more adventurous definetly venture up to Wildwood NJ (Just north of cape may). Wildwood is one town north and certainly has more attractions for teens especially there famous 2mile boardwalk of nothing but amuesment piers, stores, food, and fun..Watch your pockets though, i know people who were pick pocketed.
Compared to cape May you will see much more “trash” on the boardwalk. but definatly fun. When you go to cape may try to venture up there for a night or every night. check out wildwoods website for more info..
The next 2 towns north of wildwood are more rich towns, quiet and much less stuff than cape may and wildwood.
Sea Isle is the next town north of the towns i just mentioned, sea isler has more of a party atmoshere, if your old enough to drink and party, sea isle has bars and a boardwalk. they manage to combine a family town and party town. Very irish.
Ocean City is the next town north of sea isle, ocean city compares most with wildwood, but MUCH MORE family orientated and MUCH LESS trash than wildwood. they have everything wildwood has, rides, people, resturants, fun.
Atlantic city, is the last town north ill mention and hopefully youve heard of this town, and unless your 21 so you can gamble drink and party, you probally will just be limited to the depressing boardwalk or public beaches while everyone inside has fun…
Cape May is a nice town to vacation in, it attracts to a certain crowd while more adventourous and hyper crowds love wildwood and towns north.
When you wrrive in capemay figure out whre the commerce office is and try to find some info on events in the town for when your visiting.
