What unit is aneroid barometer measuring?
I got an antique aneroid barometer from my grandparents’ house. It’s a Swift brand (although the Vega logo is also on the barometer face) and it was made in Germany. Its numbers range from 27.20 to 31.80, but it doesn’t say what exactly those numbers correspond to. What unit is it measuring?
It measures local barometric pressure in “hg(inches of mercury). It is in relation to where you are compared to sea level, which sea level is 29.92 “hg, 0 feet altitude at 70 degrees which is considered a “normal” day.
