how can i dull the pewter?
we have a very nice goodwill [charity shop] in our neighborhood. most of the items are upscale and i have bought some nice things..i went into the store today and noticed row after row of pewter from england,holland and united states..they were priced with tags that obviously came from an antique store or auction house..i bought them[cheap] with the intention to display them in a large hutch in the kitchen. i live in new england so it looks appealing. most of the pewter has a beautiful grey dull patina and some are more..polished looking.is there a way to enhance the pewter patina on the more shiny pewter to appear dull ? and also is there a natural way to clean the pewter?
No. Those items are new, and that’s the way pewter is made today.
Pewter, today, can be put into dishwashers, etc. No special care is needed.
