can they shut my water off from a shared well?
My parents built a house and shared a well with my grandfather. My parents home was built first. He died and my parents sold the land to my uncle.Now my parents past my uncle wants to charge me money for the water monthly for a home I visit every few weeks for perhaps the days the max. THe house has had free water for 30 + years.
I feel my uncle is trying to extort money out of me any way he can. This started after I locked the garage from his use since all the expensive tools disappeared and and antique steam engine left to my son was stolen– that i cant pin on him cause i have no proof. That wouldnt be fair. I am pretty sure it was him. My mom always warned me about him that he was a snake. So what do I do
The water is not free, your uncle pays to run and maintain the well.
While you may have deeded water rights your uncle also has the right to be paid for the expense of providing the water.
