Are there any UK regulations about installing toilets without an internal u-bend/trap?
We have a toilet in a very small shower room in our georgian house (was actually a cupboard), and the toilet really gets in the way. Antique wash-down toilets often have a small size, but quite a few on eBay don’t have an internal u-bend. I can’t find any pan connectors with integral u-bend, so was wondering if having an external u-bend was no longer allowed. Modern washdown toilets seem to have a larger projection (probably because they do have a u-bend!). Any ideas gratefully received.
Go to ‘ www.mcalpineplumbing.com ‘ – available at most plumbers merchants. Use the WCTRAP4P in conjunction with a WC-CON8 or WC-CON8E to form an external trap behind the toilet —– OR ——- use an ARB-1 ” rat trap ” in line ( not as effective, but better than nothing ! )
