Where can I find an appraiser for antique china sets & glassware I’ve inherited?
Have been told by many people not to go to an antique dealer for appraisal because the items will be given low values in hopes that I would sell the china & Fostoria glassware sets to the dealer for a small portion of their value. If anyone can answer this question, it will be much appreciated. Thank you.
There are books at your local bookstore that can give you an approximate value for the china and glassware. You can also check on eBay and see what pieces are selling for at the present time. There are also auction houses like Southeby’s and Christie’s that will appraise your items and, if you wish, put them up for auction for you.
